Fernando Coronil's work intersected and overlapped with Trouillot's in many ways, including the argument about the historical neglect of the Spanish empire by colonial and postcolonial studies, and the critique of contemporary notions of globalization. His article in Public Culture (2000, 12(2), "Towards a Critique of Globalcentrism: Speculations on Capitalism's Nature," and his essay "After Empire: Reflections on Imperialism from the Américas" in Stoler and Mcgrahanhan's edited volume Imperial Formations (2007), both develop these points.
