I once had an Uber passenger who was a half black/half white guy from Newark, New Jersey who was born in 1949, at a time when that was very uncommon.
He was actually very Conservative and very willing to talk about race and culture. We then had a discussion about how blacks did used to have lower rates of crime and illegitimate children prior to the 1960s, and I asked him why he thought that was.
His answer: “They were less bad then because they feared white people, and that kept them from being uncivilized. White people were the majority of police offices, lawyers, judges, etc. The last thing they ever wanted to encounter was a white judge, even in the north. Once white people lost their racial pride and began letting the 3rd world into their country, blacks knew that you let your guard down, and now they’re not afraid of you anymore.”
