What I miss most about the '50s and '60s (at least the first half of the decade) was our collective elegance. We dressed up, pretty much everywhere. Even on airplanes. And, boy, did we look great doing it. And it wasn't just Whites that dressed appropriately; ALL races knew their p's and q's.

Now, we're a slovenly, broken mess. We talk alot here on AmRen about the changes that need to be effected socially and politically to rebuild our nation, but one of the simplest short-term improvements would be a return to better dress. As the old adage goes, 'A coat and tie build character'.

And it's true. When you look better, you feel better. And when you look and feel better, the world becomes a better place. Individually, you command more respect, and society itself becomes more respectable. As it is now, we're working our way back to the cave.
