The ghetto lottery, it's been going on for years. A buddy of mine who worked at a county jail years ago told me how they were intaking new inmates. They had them line up faced against the wall while they frisked down one, and then another inmate. One of the inmates still waiting his turn suddenly reeled back and slammed his head full force into the wall. None of the guards was even near him when he did it. The inmate knocked himself out cold and had to be transported to the hospital. Was he trying to win the ghetto lottery? Trying to escape when he got transported? Or, was he suicidal? My buddy said he didn't know. Never saw that inmate again. He may have had other mental problems.
