We definitely DO NOT need a bike lane on the east promenade. Have the people who made this plan actual walked (or biked) the east promenade from 480 to the ferry? It is a sidewalk and it should be. Facilitating a scenic, speedy trip for bikers is not worth the risk to small children, or pets, or the elderly, or the mobility challenged. It’s a dangerous plan and does not benefit the most vulnerable among us. If, however, the plan is intended to keep the inevitable influx of bikers AWAY from all the businesses on Main Street it is off to great start.
