I got guilt tripped into seeing The Lion King (a friend had tickets that would've otherwise gone to waste). It was...differently bad?...from what I expected, but the bad reviews are spot on. Cinematography was great and Seth Rogen & Billy Eichner were perfect, but that's about it for positives. Them adding all the extra-long nature scenes only highlighted how the movie really has no middle, a lot of the voice acting was weak, and the song performances were mostly lackluster. Also, all the death scenes were way too scary for the kids in the audience.
I saw it with a friend who had seen Aladdin and he said he liked Aladdin more.
