I came to the US at age 11. I was extremely happy & proud to become an American. English is my third language. I was proud to have had the opportunity to learn English, and take extreme pride that I speak it at a high level, accent free. I find it astounding that there hasn’t been a huge outcry to preserve it as the official language (or any outcry, apparently). I find our catering to the Spanish-speaking masses repulsive, especially by our own federal government (more recently to every motley tongue imaginable..) I had to learn; your ancestors all had to learn.
