Having lived through the horror of having my Jr. high School integrated in the late 60's, I can safely and accurately say that it did nothing but drag the school down and make the environment for whites absolutely miserable due to the violent and disruptive nature of blacks. We didn't like the idea of it happening because we already knew what blacks were like from having them coming into our neighborhoods especially at night and stealing everything that wasn't nailed down. In my neighborhood which bordered a cemetery, it was a common sight to see blacks stealing flowers off the graves during the day time and running off with them. We used to chase them and curse at them on a regular basis but it did no good.

When they started riding our school bus, they quickly tried to take over and would even go so far as to try to occupy every seat (as they got on at the bus stop before us) and would then try to refuse to let any white sit down. That almost started several fights as we'd just grab their legs and throw them off the seats and sit down anyway. They gave up on that effort and then migrated to the back of the bus (their choice) where they could sit and throw hard objects at the back of the heads of whites. That too almost started several fights.
I could tell a ton of stories but suffice it to say that after the 9th grade, I got out of that area and being away from blacks was pure ecstasy- like awakening from a horrible nightmare.
