I think you may have missed the point of my post. I don't want a FERS pension, and I'd really prefer to stop paying into social security. I really only trust myself in regards to handling my personal finances, and finally, retirement. I fully fund my TSP each year, and my wife and I both contribute the max to Roth IRA's. I don't need nor want to rely on a promise of future financial well-being.
