I think we probably all served with gays and lesbians at one of more times, and likely didn't know it at the time. All that I wanted was a fellow soldier that did his or her job, the same with a transgender soldier. If they willingly raise their hand and take the oath, that's a damn fine start. Look around, there are plenty of folks who won't shoulder arms and defend this country. If they volunteer, we should have their back.
