This is actually good news! Everybody has been focused on the family rules. Meanwhile, the Trojan horse was the part of the original SCOTUS ruling that said that a U.S. refugee resettlement agency's "formal assurance" of resettlement constituted a bona fide tie to the U.S., which would allow refugees to circumvent the travel ban. That would have allowed almost anyone in! That part is now blocked.

This new ruling tosses the immigration advocates a bone to calm them down, and neutralizes their ability to organize around the emotional #BannedGrandmas meme. But the net effect will actually be far fewer people allowed in. That's a compromise that I can live with, for now.
