Frats are a stupid outdated idea. Why universities deny that they only exist as party houses is beyond me. Oh yeah, they're about brotherhood, sure. If people want to live with a bunch of friends, and throw the occasional party, that's fine. But the system of "pledging" for friends is ridiculous. Even pathetic when you think about it. And yes, it perpetuates the idea that college is about "the college experience" , rather than about getting a good job.
