I have said this countless times, and I will never tire of saying it.
The FIRST duty of every legitimate government everywhere was, is and will remain protecting the lives, rights, privileges and property of the citizenry. Everything else is secondary and even tertiary. When a government fails at its first duty through misfeasance, malfeasance or both, it ceases to be a legitimate goverment, and citizens must take upon themselves the duties their delegates have chosen not to fulfill. Such a dishonest government effectively makes itself little more than an occupying force.
